We are walking around in Seattle and I see a man, a homeless man and he is having a conversation with a statue of a gorilla. I am watching this man and my heart breaks because there is no talking to this man. He is not in a place mentally for anyone to try and talk to him. Each downtown area we have traveled to I have seen the same scenes. Countless people walking around without a clue in the world and potentially without a clue of Jesus.

While in Seattle we talk to a man sitting on the corner. Pretty decent conversation. He once had faith but now he doesn’t. Each downtown area we have traveled to I have been a part of or watched the conversation turn to Jesus however end in them still not sure about their faith. And no it’s not about getting “numbers”, and we do believe that we planted a seed and pray that someone else comes in their life, but when you see the possibility, you want to stay and disciple. It is an on-going lesson in surrender.

When you drive, walk, ride the bus, etc do you notice how many people are out there in the streets like this? What goes through your mind when you pass by? For me, I think about their soul. Where does their soul go when they die? How can the Gospel reach them? Are we as Christians discipling each other to be filled with the Holy Spirit and armor of God to fight this? We are not in a battle of flesh and blood but of spiritual warfare and it is real! (Ephesians 6:12-13)

Brothers and sisters in Christ we have a role to play on this earth. Angels and demons are fighting constantly. In a battle for the souls of people, (that is a slap of reality the Lord has given me, which will be in an upcoming blog), there is an urgency that needs to be emphasized to reach people.

The Lord has called me to fast for forty days for our nation. This is a time to dig so deep into the Lord and really press into the nation. We are called to fast as Christians. Looking in scripture it doesn’t tell us if we fast, but it says when we fast. (Nehemiah 1:4, Acts 13:3-4, Matthew 4:1-3).

I’m asking that you join me in doing this. There is something about obedience to the Lord where we can see miracles happen. I’m not saying that the world’s problems will just up and disappear, but I am saying that prayer and fasting is powerful and when done in obedience to the Lord who knows the outcome. I’m asking that you take time, seek the Lord and ask Him what can you fast to seek to follow him and to seek to pray for a revival for the nation.

Will you join me in this?

If you are feeling led to do this fast please reach out to me because I would love accountability in this to stay focused on what the Lord has given.
