I’ve been asked quite a few questions about my squad:
“how many people are on your team?”
“only 10?”
“is that the normal amount?”
“why are you guys so small?
Short Answer: our numbers dropped
God’s Answer: He said we would be a small squad
The first night we arrived at training camp we are told how this team was prophesied over. Now of course all of the squads are prayed over. The staff is quite amazing and are such prayer warriors and I’m so thankfu to be prayed under by them.
B Squad in particular has a wonderful story. Ready?
We all have our tents set up and we are standing in a circle passing a ball and saying our name and a fun fact. When we are done our squad mentor tells us something spectacular. She says that Seth Barnes (who started Adventures in Missions) tells her that he wants her to disciple 12 people this year. She is like ok? He keeps telling her that it will be 12 people that she disciples. She says that she currently has 16 leaders on the field so that’s close, so should be good. Seth tells her no it will be 12 people.
So currently Tersea (mentor) had said that our squad was at about 20ish people and after the 12 people prophecy was said, our numbers started dropping. We had dropped to 12 and as she was telling us this all of our faces dropped. WHAT?! Then our numbers dropped to 10 and we were a little confused, but, we have 2 squad leaders so the number is back to 12. I think I can speak for the whole squad when I say that we were amazed at the handiwork of God. To know that each of us was chosen and hand picked to be on this specific squad, and mentored by an amazing woman is jaw dropping.
If there wasn’t a doubt in my mind about going on this trip, this definitely was reassuring that I am supposed to be with this squad and on this route!
I can’t wait!
Yes! You are right where you are supposed to be! I can’t wait to get to know you even better and I know your team is already crazy about you!
