Today is my birthday! That’s right, 30 years old, a new decade!

I think back on my life and all the things I have seen, experienced, grown in, understood, still learning, and walking through. The Lord has been such a wonderful remaining constant in my life and for that I can’t thank Him enough for being my solid rock.

I don’t claim to know everything about everything. I’m always walking in curiosity and seeking wisdom from those around me. However I’ve learned a couple of things throughout these thirty years, and I want to share some life lessons that I’ve learned through the Lord, and through the people he has placed in my life.

So here they are:

  1. There is no such thing as perfection. We will fail as human beings.

  2. Seek wisdom from those around you.

  3. Use discernment in making decisions.

  4. Community is crucial to the Christian walk.

  5. The Lord is the only constant foundation that will never change.

  6. Always be ready.

  7. Be Bold.

  8. Intentionally seek people and press into them.

  9. Boundaries are a lifesaver and necessary.

  10. Seasons are temporary and ever changing.

  11. Friends will come into your life and those same friends will leave, and that’s ok.

  12. Hard truths and feedback are helpful to growth.

  13. Be a listening ear and make sure people are heard.

  14. Take risks for the Gospel.

  15. There are appropriate times for everything.

  16. Pay attention to your surroundings.

  17. Be open to change.

  18. Walk with your hands open to what the Lord has for you.

  19. Cling tightly to Jesus.

  20. Love is not love, love is what God intends it to be.

  21. Reconciliation must be had in a community of believers.

  22. However reconciliation looks different for each situation.

  23. Remember to just laugh, don’t get hung up on the weight of the world that we forget to smile.

  24. Live in the moment and take things day by day.

  25. Life can always be worse, but we have a blessed hope in Jesus no matter how difficult our circumstances are.

  26. Only Jesus can heal and restore us.

  27. It’s ok to not be ok.

  28. Crying is good for the soul, release it.

  29. When you say yes to the Lord, you better mean it, nothing can be conditional.

  30. Real Grace exists in the arms of the Father.

I know there are more lessons I have learned and more I will learn. Walking this journey with the Lord has been one heck of a rollercoaster, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Hello Thirty! I’m ready for you!
